According to the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, or CCPIT, the recent meeting between Chinese President Xi Jinping and US President Donald Trump has brought greater certainty to China-US business and trade cooperation. Spokesperson Wang Wenshuai told reporters that the CCPIT Trade Friction Index for July showed that the US recorded the highest level of trade friction with China among the countries covered by the index. But, at the same time, US companies have shown strong interest in the upcoming 2026 APEC CEO Summit in November. The US has the largest number of registered companies among all APEC economies so far. The spokesman said this highlights the continued interest of the US business community in Asia-Pacific economic cooperation, and reflects the close links between China and the US across industrial and supply chains. She also said business leaders from both countries have responded positively to the recent meeting between the Chinese and US Presidents.
