| Brief Introduction

In order to meet the needs of China’s foreign economic and trade work, the CCPIT Commercial legal Service Center has gradually established and developed a series of commercial legal services, such as commercial mediation, legal counsel and average adjustment. After more than half a century of development, the CCPIT Commercial Legal Service Center has given full play to its role as a bridge and platform, providing comprehensive commercial legal services for Chinese and foreign enterprises, and making great contribution to China’s reform and opening up.

Since its establishment in 1987, the CCPIT Mediation Center has handled more than 4000 commercial dispute cases every year, involving more than 50 countries and regions, with a mediation success rate of more than 70%. 46 sub-mediation centers have been set up in various provinces and cities, forming a nationwide work network. The CCPIT Mediation Center has also signed cooperation agreements with the United States, Germany, the United Kingdom, Greece, Italy, Japan, China Hong Kong, Singapore and other countries and regions, forming an effective joint case-handling mechanism.

In response to the current situation where China is facing increasing trade barriers and frictions, the Department of Legal Affairs has been actively carrying out legal services to help enterprises deal with anti-dumping and anti-subsidies, and providing “anti-dumping”early warning reports to relevant industries and enterprises, so as to help enterprises prevent and avoid economic and trade risks.

As the only average adjustment institution in Chinese mainland, the CCPIT Adjustment Centre accepts commissions from shipping companies all over the world. It handles cases of general and particular average according to relevant provisions of the contract of carriage and the insurance policy of ship. It also provides opinions on handling marine accidents for shipowners and other parties concerned. The Centre has set up offices in Shanghai, Tianjin, Chongqing, Qingdao, Wuhan, Xiamen and other coastal cities. As a group member of the Association of Average Adjusters (AAA) in Europe, it has established close business relationships with relevant international organizations and counterparts from various countries.
